African dance - weekend workshop with Aliou Dieme
ÖHA Öblarn
Weekend workshop with Aliou Dieme
Aliou Dieme comes from Senegal and studied traditional dance pedagogy, movement improvisation and rhythm at the art academy in Dakar.
He combines the traditional dances and ritual gestures of the villages of West Africa with his unique dance style, unleashing a veritable firework display of joie de vivre. The joy of movement and the joy of dancing are at the centre of the seminar.
Saturday, 19 October from 10:00-12:30 and 14:00-16:00
Sunday, 20 October from 10:00-12:30
Sunday, 20 October from 13:00-14:30 Children's taster course
Children playfully get in touch with African dance and its earthy drum rhythms. Aliou teaches the dance from his homeland with a lot of humour and there is plenty to laugh about. Walking and swaying to the rhythm of the music is one of the basic elements. Aliou also uses pictures and stories to tell stories about his homeland. An experience for every child to get to know another culture up close.
The workshop days can also be booked individually:
