The Hut's Tour

1^st Day: Individual arrival in Gosau under the Dachstein.

• Overnight stay in Gosau.

2^nd Day: From the wonderful Gosausee you glide up to the Zwieselalm by cable car. From here you hike along the Gosaukamm. Past the imposing Donnerkogel and the Bischofsmütze you finally reach the Hofpürglhütte.

• ca. 10 km, 4 - 5 hrs, altitude difference ascent 850 m / descent 860 m
• Overnight stay at the Hofpürglhütte.

3^th Day: Starting at the Hofpürglhütte, the route today is always between the tree line and the rugged limestone landscape. On this high trail you walk around the valley above Filzmoos and, after passing below the Dachstein caves, you reach the Dachstein Südwandhütte.

• ca. 11 km, 5 - 6 hrs, altitude difference ascent 762 m / descent 586 m 
• Overnight stay at the Dachstein Südwandhütte.

4^th Day: For the hike to Guttenberghaus two variants are possible: 

1. Hike across the valley (also recommended in bad weather). From the Südwandhütte the path leads below the Dachstein Südwand to the valley station and on to Ramsau with a view of the impressive Dachstein massif. Here you hike along the village before you cross the tree line again via the Anton Baum Weg and finally reach the exposed Guttenberghaus.
   ca. 15 km, 4 - 5 hrs, altitude difference ascent 1,048 m / descent 785 m
2. Ascent with the Dachstein cable car (costs to be paid extra on site). Also here you start from the Südwandhütte first to the valley station of the Dachstein cable car. After the steep ascent of almost 1,000 hm you cross the Dachstein glacier. The way leads you further through high alpine mountains and finally also to the Guttenberghaus.
   ca. 9,5 km, 4 - 5 hours, altitude difference ascent 264 m / descent 861 m

ATTENTION: For the variant with the Dachstein cable car it is absolutely necessary to make a reservation for the ascent about 1 week in advance at www.derdachstein.at. Otherwise it is possible that all seats in the gondola are fully booked. For the reservation guests are responsible for themselves.

5^th Day: The next stage leads you from the Guttenberghaus over the plateau "Am Stein" through a wonderful karst landscape towards Krippenegg and finally to the Wiesberghaus.

• ca. 16km, 6 hrs, altitude difference ascent 241 m / descent 1,781 m
• Overnight stay in the Wiesberghaus. 

6^th Day: From the Wiesberghaus walk in the direction of Plassen. Here you will pass the oldest salt mine in the world (about 7,000 years old). From here you pass the historic Rudolfsturm and take the bus back to Gosau. 

• ca. 12 km, 5 - 6 hrs, altitude difference ascent 278 m / descent 1,614 m
• Overnight stay in Gosau.

7^th Day: Individual departure.
