Ritzingerhütte

Viehbergalm Gröbming

In the Ritzingerhütte in the Viehbergalm in the municipality of Gröbming, the Ennstaler Steirerkas, a Brösel cheese, is still produced. As the alpine hut is only open from May to September, you can enjoy a farm holiday with alpine bar in summer at 1445m.

The Ritzingerhütte, built in the 19th century and run organically by the Gruber family, is located at 1445m. It is open from May to September and can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike and offers overnight accommodation for up to eight people. Here you can enjoy a farm holiday in the untouched nature of the Kemet Mountains. The walk from the Gröbminger district of Lend takes about one and a half hours. In addition to products made from fresh alpine milk and homemade Steirerkas, Steirerkrapfen, Kasnocken, Kaiserschmarrn, Stoderkrapfen and Raunkerl are specialities of the hut. An absolute insider tip is the Almkaffee, a creamy and alcoholic coffee. The Almausschank always takes place Monday to Sunday from June to August in the time between 7:00 to 19:00.

Products:

  • Butter (from June to August)
